Deadly A31 crash: Ghost driver causes fatal head-on collision with van
A horrific crash on the A31 motorway has claimed the lives of two people after a ghost driver ploughed head-on into a van.
The head-on crash happened in the early hours of Tuesday morning on the A31 near Schüttorf in Lower Saxony, Germany.
Police said a car was travelling in the wrong direction on the motorway when it collided with a van.
The driver of the car, a 75-year-old man, and the driver of the van, a 47-year-old man, were both killed in the crash.
A third person in the van, a 49-year-old woman, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The motorway was closed for several hours while police investigated the crash.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash to come forward.
