Humphries Makes Stellar Exit from World Darts Championship

Defending champion Luke Humphries produced a valiant performance before crashing out of the World Darts Championship in a thrilling second-round clash with Ross Smith. Despite a spirited fightback, Humphries was unable to overcome a determined Smith, who secured a hard-fought 3-1 victory.

Humphries, who captured the coveted Sid Waddell Trophy last year, started the match strongly. He took the opening set with relative ease, averaging 95.63 and hitting three 180s. However, Smith responded magnificently, winning the next three sets to seal his place in the third round.

Smith, ranked 34th in the world, produced a superb display of darts. He averaged 96.17, hit five 180s, and converted 43% of his doubles. Humphries, despite his best efforts, could not match Smith's consistency and accuracy.
