Lecce Part Ways With Manager Gotti After Poor Serie A Run
Salvatore De Giorgi Takes Over
Lecce and their manager Marco Gotti have parted ways after a poor run of form in Serie A.
The Giallorossi have only managed to win two of their last 12 Serie A games, and sit 17th in the table, just one point above the relegation zone.
Gotti was appointed Lecce manager in September 2022, and led them to promotion from Serie B last season.
However, the Italian has been unable to replicate that success in Serie A, and has paid the price with his job.
Lecce have announced that Salvatore De Giorgi will take over as manager until the end of the season.
The 46-year-old has been working as the club's Primavera coach, and has previously managed Virtus Francavilla and Taranto.
De Giorgi's first game in charge of Lecce will be against AC Milan on Sunday.
