M5, Somerset: National Highways confirms major road closure due to sinkhole

National Highways has confirmed that the M5 motorway in Somerset has been closed in both directions between Junctions 25 and 26 due to a large sinkhole.
The sinkhole has occurred on the southbound carriageway, but the northbound carriageway has also been closed as a precautionary measure.
