Martin Schindler Narrows Misses Out on Round of 16: German Falls Short by One Leg in Wolverhampton Grand Slam
Schindler bows out of Grand Slam competition
German darts player Martin Schindler fell just short of advancing to the round of 16 at the Grand Slam of Darts in Wolverhampton, England. Schindler lost a narrow 10-9 match to England's Ryan Searle in the second round on Sunday evening.
Schindler, who won the German Darts Championship in 2022, started the match strongly and took an early 4-1 lead. However, Searle fought back and took five of the next six legs to lead 7-5.
Schindler misses double to tie the match
Schindler had the chance to level the match at 9-9 in the deciding leg, but he missed a double 10 to give Searle the victory. The win sees Searle advance to the round of 16, where he will face either Michael Smith or Krzysztof Ratajski.
