A man holding a knife to his throat caused a major police operation in Warendorf on Saturday afternoon. According to police, the 34-year-old German was standing in front of a drugstore on Münsterstraße when he suddenly pulled out a knife and held it to his throat.
Passers-by immediately alerted the police, who arrived on the scene with a large contingent of officers. The area around the drugstore was cordoned off and the man was ordered to drop the knife. After several minutes of negotiation, the man finally complied and was taken into custody.
The man was slightly injured and was taken to a hospital for treatment. The police are investigating the incident and are trying to determine the man's motive.
