News Content Hub - SBM Offshore readies another FPSO for Petrobras
SBM Offshore is preparing to deliver its second FPSO (floating production, storage, and offloading) vessel to Petrobras, the Brazilian state-owned oil company. The FPSO, named Sepetiba, is destined for the Mero field in the Santos Basin, offshore Brazil.
The Sepetiba FPSO will be capable of processing 180,000 barrels of oil per day and will have a storage capacity of 2 million barrels. It will be deployed in the Mero field, which is estimated to hold reserves of more than 3 billion barrels of oil.
The Sepetiba FPSO is the second of four FPSOs that SBM Offshore is building for Petrobras. The first FPSO, named Carioca, was delivered in 2017 and is already in operation in the Mero field. The other two FPSOs, named Marlim and Buzios, are scheduled to be delivered in 2022 and 2023, respectively.
The Sepetiba FPSO is a significant investment for SBM Offshore and Petrobras. The FPSO will help to increase oil production in the Mero field and will contribute to Brazil's goal of becoming self-sufficient in oil production.
The Sepetiba FPSO is also a major milestone for SBM Offshore. The company has been a leading provider of FPSOs for more than 40 years and has delivered more than 50 FPSOs to clients around the world.
The Sepetiba FPSO is a testament to SBM Offshore's expertise in the design, construction, and operation of FPSOs. The company is committed to providing its clients with the highest quality FPSOs and services.
