Over 8,000 without power in central, south, east Bakersfield: PG&E

What happened?

As of 5:36 p.m. Tuesday, more than 8,000 PG&E customers were without power in central, south and east Bakersfield.

The outage was first reported around 4:45 p.m. The cause of the outage is under investigation.

What areas are affected?

The outage is affecting customers in the following areas:

• Central Bakersfield
• South Bakersfield
• East Bakersfield

What is PG&E doing?

PG&E crews are working to restore power as quickly as possible. The estimated time of restoration is 10:30 p.m. Tuesday.

In the meantime, PG&E is asking customers to conserve energy. This means turning off unnecessary lights and appliances, and unplugging electronics.

What should customers do?

Customers who are without power should stay away from downed power lines. If you see a downed power line, call 911 immediately.
