Wallbach: Two Algerians Flee and Arrested After Accident with Stolen Car
Suspects caused significant damage before fleeing the scene
On Tuesday evening, two Algerian men stole a car in Wallbach, Germany, and caused significant damage to several parked vehicles before fleeing the scene. The police were able to apprehend the suspects a short time later.
According to the police report, the two men, aged 20 and 21, broke into a car parked on Goethestrasse at around 7:30 pm. They started the vehicle and drove off, causing damage to several parked cars along the way.
Witnesses alerted the police, who were able to locate the stolen car a short time later on Schillerstrasse. The suspects had abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot. The police set up a search operation and were able to apprehend the two men in a nearby park.
High Damage Costs and Further Investigations
The stolen car was extensively damaged and had to be towed away. The police estimate the damage caused by the suspects to be in the tens of thousands of euros.
The two Algerians were taken into custody and charged with car theft and hit-and-run. The police are continuing to investigate the incident and are looking for any further witnesses who may have information.
