The Royals jumped out to an early lead in the first inning when Bobby Witt Jr. hit a solo home run off Yankees starter Gerrit Cole. The Yankees tied the game in the third inning on a single by Aaron Judge, but the Royals retook the lead in the fourth inning on a sacrifice fly by MJ Melendez.

Yankees Battle Back

The Yankees tied the game again in the fifth inning on a single by Giancarlo Stanton. They took the lead for good in the seventh inning on a single by Josh Donaldson. The Royals tied the game in the eighth inning on a single by Salvador Perez, but the Yankees walked it off in the 10th inning on Chisholm's single.

Cole's Strong Outing

Cole pitched well for the Yankees, allowing just two runs on four hits over six innings of work. He struck out nine batters and walked one. The bullpen did not allow a run over the final four innings, with Aroldis Chapman picking up the win.

Peraza's Heroics

Peraza's walk-off single was his third hit of the game. He is now hitting .321 with three home runs and 13 RBIs this season.
