Bundesliga (F): RB Leipzig aims to score points in Essen and overcome away weakness
Leipzig (dpa/lnw) - After the first away defeat of the season, RB Leipzig wants to return to winning ways in the Bundesliga on Sunday (2 p.m.) at SGS Essen. Coach Alexander Wahler's team lost 4-0 at Eintracht Frankfurt two weeks ago, ending a run of four straight wins to start the season.
Leipzig is now third in the table, while Essen is bottom of the table with two points from six games. "We want to win in Essen and overcome our away weakness," Wahler said. "We have to be more determined and clinical in front of goal."
Leipzig has scored just two goals in their last three away games, while Essen has conceded 13 goals in their last three home games. "We have to be more aggressive and not let Essen get into the game," Wahler said. "We have to dictate the pace of the game and create chances."
Leipzig will be without defender Verena Aschauer (knee injury) and midfielder Fabienne Dongus (suspended). Essen will be without defender Marina Hegering (knee injury) and midfielder Laura Freigang (suspended).
The match will be played at the Hafenstrasse Stadium in Essen.
