Krispy Kreme is celebrating its 85th birthday in a sweet way, by giving away more than 20,000 free doughnuts on Thursday, July 14th.

The giveaway is part of the brand's "Hot Light Thursdays" promotion, which offers a free Original Glazed doughnut to anyone who visits a Krispy Kreme store on the second Thursday of every month.

This month, Krispy Kreme is doubling the giveaway to celebrate its birthday. The free doughnuts will be available at all participating Krispy Kreme stores in the United States.

To get your free doughnut, simply visit a Krispy Kreme store on Thursday, July 14th, and ask for a free Original Glazed doughnut. No purchase is necessary.

The giveaway starts at 6:00 AM local time and will continue until the doughnuts run out.

Krispy Kreme is also offering a special birthday promotion for customers who order online. Customers who order a dozen doughnuts online on July 14th will get a free birthday cake doughnut.

The birthday cake doughnut is a new flavor from Krispy Kreme. It's a yeast-raised doughnut that's filled with birthday cake batter and topped with a white icing and rainbow sprinkles.
